During a journey through the Jaipur region, Swami Premanand Puri Ji Maharaj and his companions stopped to drink water at a field. There, they noticed a partially visible form of Shri Hanuman Ji in the ground. Sensing the divine presence, Swamiji instructed his companions to carefully remove it from the soil. To their amazement, what emerged was a beautiful and complete pratima (idol) of Shri Hanuman Ji. With great reverence, they brought the idol with them to Ujjain, where the grand Maha Kumbh Mela was taking place. The idol was then enshrined at their campsite near Badnagar Road, Mohanpura, in Ujjain. Since then, this sacred pratima has remained resplendent (sushobhit) at the same place. Recognizing the sanctity of the site, a kind devotee donated the land to the trust, and in 2016, the construction of the Hanuman Mandir began. A divine miracle associated with this temple is that devotees who write their wishes on a piece of paper and offer it with faith see their desires fulfilled by Shri Hanuman Ji. After witnessing these miracles, the temple came to be known as Shri Arji Wale Hanuman Mandir, Ujjain.
When the construction of the temple began, Swami Premanand Puri Ji Maharaj brought with him a highly revered Mahamrityunjay Mahakaal Shivling, which holds deep spiritual significance. This ancient Shivling, over 250 years old, originally belonged to the Guruji of Swamiji’s Guruji and was preserved with great devotion in Muzaffarnagar. However, in Muzaffarnagar, the divine circumstances (yog) never aligned in such a way that their Guruji could formally install (sthapit) it. Honoring this sacred lineage and recognizing the divine opportunity, Swamiji brought the Shivling to Ujjain and had it ceremoniously installed in the temple. Its presence added another sacred dimension to the mandir, making it not only a seat of Lord Hanuman’s blessings but also a powerful center of Lord Shiva’s eternal energy.
